About the Role

1Way Tech Solutions Ltd is seeking a competent and experienced IT Network Engineer to join our dynamic technical team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and high-performance IT networks, with a specialized focus on IP-based CCTV surveillance systems and IT lab infrastructure. You will play a vital role in ensuring seamless connectivity, secure data transmission, and system stability across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deploy CCTV surveillance solutions, integrating IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, PoE switches, and remote access systems.
  • Execute full network infrastructure setups, including structured cabling, crimping, patch panel termination, and routing through network cabinets.
  • Perform racking and stacking of networking equipment including switches, firewalls, routers, and storage devices.
  • Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and firewall settings for secure network operation with network team.
  • Set up and manage IT labs for testing, training, and simulations—ensuring all systems are correctly configured, powered, and logically segmented.
  • Provide timely support and resolution of network-related issues for users and clients.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, setup guides, and asset inventories.
  • Conduct site surveys, draft project plans, and coordinate with subcontractors or vendors during deployments.
  • Implement best practices for data protection, system uptime, disaster recovery, and compliance with UK safety and privacy standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and physical network architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise in IP-based CCTV system deployment including Hikvision, Dahua, or Swann.
  • Skilled in structured cabling, hardware installation, and network equipment configuration.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as cable testers, Wi-Fi analyzers, and IP scanners.
  • Ability to interpret network drawings, blueprints, and project schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Relevant qualifications in IT, Networking, or Electronics are desirable.

Desirable Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

  • CompTIA Network+
